TESA Rolls

The rolls of the TESA electric welding tube mill are the main working tool in the production of electric welded pipes for main gas and oil pipelines. The continuous roll forming process involves the gradual folding of a flat strip into a round billet by passing it through the roll gauges. In 1999, the Japanese company NAKATA introduced the FFX (Flexible Forming system) technology for the first time. Since then, the “flexible forming” technology has become the industry standard. Modern TESA mills operating on this technology allow you to quickly switch from one pipe size to another using the rolling tool position control system, which allows you to obtain the required bending radius and angle without reloading or additional adjustments. Currently, there are three companies that use this technology in their pipe electric welding complexes: Olimpia’80 (Italy), NAKATA (Japan), and SMS Meer (Germany).
